Prof. JSR Prasad

Prof. JSR Prasad is a Professor of Department of Sanskrit Studies, University of Hyderabad. He works at the intersection of Philosophy and Ayurveda, with a primary focus on ‘Indian psychology’ derived from extensive Sanskrit literature. His research collaborations aim to develop health scales and suggest policy-level changes. His team strives to recommend non-invasive methods for maintaining optimal mental health. Additionally, his secondary focus investigates the influence of food, diet, and nutrition on mental well-being. His tertiary focus explores ancient Indian contributions to S&T. He was the PI of the IoE project on Indian Research Methodology.

Dr. Banani Basistha

Dr. Banani Basistha, PhD, is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Indian Psychology at the University of Hyderabad. With over 8 years of teaching experience, she has previously served as an Assistant Professor. She is also an Assistant Editor for the INSPA Journal of Applied and School Psychology (UGC CARE-listed). Dr. Basistha has published 14+ articles in reputed journals and presented 15+ papers at various conferences. She is proficient in SPSS and R Studio.

 

Subhasish De

 

Subhasish pursued his undergraduate and postgraduate studies in Sanskrit at Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, Howrah, West Bengal. He is currently working under the supervision of Prof. J.S.R. Prasad, Department of Sanskrit Studies, University of Hyderabad. Subhasish is a researcher with a growing interest in Indian Psychology and Ayurveda. His work is grounded in an interdisciplinary approach, integrating classical Indian knowledge systems with contemporary psychological perspectives. Drawing from texts and traditions in Ayurveda and Indian philosophy, he explores concepts that offer alternative frameworks for understanding the human mind, behaviour, and well-being. He is particularly interested in bridging ancient wisdom with modern research methodologies to create culturally rooted yet scientifically rigorous models of mental health and well-being.

 

Shubhashree Patel

 

 

Shubhashree Patel is a PhD scholar at the Department of Sanskrit studies, University of Hyderabad, under the supervision of Prof. JSR Prasad. She is a recipient of the prestigious ICSSR Doctoral Fellowship 2022-23. She did her M.A. in Sanskrit Literature (Gold Medallist) from the Department of Sanskrit at Dr. C.V. Ramana University, Bilaspur, India.

 

Dr. Remya R Nath

 

Dr. Remya R. Nath is currently pursuing research under the guidance of Professor J. S. R. Prasad, focusing on scale development. Her study aims to develop and validate an assessment scale for Triguna in Ayurveda, contributing to the field of personality scale development and validation within the Ayurvedic framework. She is a qualified Ayurveda practitioner, having completed her Bachelor of Ayurvedic Medicine and Surgery from Calicut University, and holds a Master’s degree in Panchakarma from Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences. She worked as an assistant professor in Sri Jayendra Saraswati Ayurveda College, Chennai.

 

Aswathy Chandran

 

Aswathy Chandran is a PhD scholar at the Department of Sanskrit studies, University of Hyderabad. She is engaged in advanced research on Tantrayukti, a fascinating field that explores the systematic methodologies and logical frameworks used in ancient Indian texts to structure and present knowledge. Through her research, she aims to delve deeper into the applications of Tantrayukti in classical literature, its role in traditional pedagogical systems, and its potential relevance in modern academic contexts.

 

Krishnasree Babu

Krishnasree Babu is a PhD scholar at the Department of Sanskrit Studies, University of Hyderabad. Her research focuses on Indian Knowledge Systems, particularly exploring the intersection of Sanskrit Vyakarana and Ayurveda. She aims to develop a systematic framework for applying principles of Sanskrit grammar to the interpretation and understanding of classical Ayurvedic texts.

Alpana Kumari

Alpana Kumari is a PhD scholar at the Department of Sanskrit studies, University of Hyderabad under the supervision of Prof. JSR Prasad. She is working in the area of Ayurvedic Psychology. She is deeply fascinated in the relevance of Ayurveda and Siddha in contemporary mental health care.

Dr. Anasuya Moharana

Dr. Anasuya Moharana has worked as a research intern at the Department of Sanskrit Studies, University of Hyderabad. She received her Ph.D. degree from the Department of Sanskrit, Pondicherry University in March 2023. She received doctoral fellowship from the Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR) 2019-2021. She has published several research papers in International and UGC-Care-listed journals.

 

Sayantan Lahiri

Sayantan Lahiri has worked as a research intern at the Department of Sanskrit Studies, University of Hyderabad. After finishing his B.A. in English (Hons.) from Ramakrishna Mission Vidyamandira, West Bengal (Gold Medallist) and M.A. in English Literature from the Department of English, University of Hyderabad (Gold Medallist). He wishes to pursue research in the areas of Postcolonial Gothic, Indian Writing in English, Research Methodology, Academic writing and Pedagogy, Post-Humanism and Cultural Studies.

 

Sreya Alosious

Sreya Alosious is working as an intern at the Department of Sanskrit Studies. She completed her bachelor’s in English Language and Literature from St. Teresa’s College, Ernakulam and is presently pursuing MA in English from the Department of English, University of Hyderabad. She wishes to pursue research in the areas of Spatial Literary Studies, Body Politics, Blue Humanities, Postcolonial Feminism and Indian Women’s Writing.

 

Saumya Kumari

Saumya Kumari is working as an intern at the Department of Sanskrit Studies She is currently pursuing M.A. in English at the University of Hyderabad. Her research interests lie in exploring tribal communities through the lenses of identity, displacement, cultural preservation, and the complex impacts of globalization. She is also engaged with postcolonial studies, particularly in areas such as identity formation, resistance to colonial power, cultural hybridity, the representation of marginalized voices, and the lasting legacy of colonialism in contemporary literature.
