Paper Presentations at IISRI 2023, Institute of Development Studies (IDSK), Kolkata

Dr. Abirlal Gangopadhyay and Mr. Sayantan Lahiri presented papers in the two-day international conference, titled “Information Infrastructure of Social Science Research in India” (IISSRI-2023) at the Institute of Development Studies Kolkata (IDSK) on 2nd and 3rd March, 2023. The conference was funded by Indian Council of Social Science Research (ICSSR), New Delhi.

Dr. Abirlal Gangopadhyay at IISRI-2023, Kolkata

The two selected papers titled “Tantrayukti as a research method in scientific writing” by Prof. JSR Prasad, Abirlal Gangopadhyay, KSR Chakravarthy and Girija Gole; and “Introduction chapter in doctoral theses and IRM: An exploratory study” by Prof. Shree Deepa and Sayantan Lahiri advocated in favour of application of Tantrayukti methods in Ayurveda in the academic vis-a-vis research writing as a homegrown, additional unique research framework following Ancient Indian Knowledge Systems. Mr. Sayantan Lahiri at IISRI-2023, Kolkata

Poster Presentation at NYCIKS 2023, IIT Roorkee

Mr. Sayantan Lahiri, who is an Institute of Eminence (IoE) funded Research Intern at the department, presented the preliminary results of the IoE Project in the poster titled “Modeling Indian Research Methodology: Approaches and Implications” in the 3-day National Youth Conference on Indian Knowledge Systems (NYCIKS) held at IIT Roorkee between 25-27th August, 2023.

The youth conference, the first of its kind on IKS was organised as part of the G20 University connect programme in association with the IKS Division, Ministry of Education, Government of India with multiple partner institutions including the Central Sanskrit University, New Delhi and Central Council for Research in Yoga and Naturopathy, to name a few.

Mr. Sayantan Lahiri and Mr. Subhashis De at NYCKIS, IIT Roorkee

The poster aimed to formulate the notion of Indian Research Methodology (IRM) from Ayurvedic Samhita texts and tried to apply the theoretical framework in doctoral thesis writing in order to make it more comprehensive and robust.
